Yohane Kamgwira has over 20 years’ experience in development field focusing on project management. This experience covers strategic planning, project design and development, resource mobilization, grants and contracts management, programme/project management, networking, advocacy, process facilitation, people management and leadership.
He has served as a project/programme manager for various development programmes focusing on food security, livelihoods and HIV/AIDS. Kamgwira has knowledge of rights based approaches and skillful in gender analysis and has working experience in using planning tools such as the Logical Framework, SWOT & PESTEL analyses, Minimum Standards for Humanitarian Response (SPHERE Standards), Livelihoods and Social Protection frameworks.
Kamgwira has worked for projects funded by the World Bank, DFID, the Global Fund, EU, NORAD, Scottish Development Fund, USAID, Development Fund of Norway, ECHO, and UNICEF focusing on HIV/AIDS, Food Security, Social Protection and Livelihoods coupled with extensive field and community experience in working with Local Councils, rural communities addressing issues of food and income security, social protection, livelihoods, HIV/AIDS, Gender and Social Development.
Yohane holds a Master of Science in Managing Rural Development from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine and School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. He received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Malawi.
