Accelerating Universal Health Coverage

Dr. Charles Holmes joined the Prince Mahidol Awards Conference in Bangkok to advance discussions on accelerating “convergence” between disease specific responses and UHC in order to achieve better health outcomes and sustainability. He spoke at two events, including alongside WHO Bulletin Editor Maria Trajkovska, Dr. Woranan Witthayapipopsakul of the Ministry of Public Health, Thailand, and Prof Anne Mills from the LSHTM at the launch event for a special themed Bulletin of the World Health Organization entitled, “Accelerating universal health coverage.” Dr. Holmes also joined a USAID panel to discuss a paper entitled, “Tailored HIV Programs and Universal Health Coverage,” that he co-authored with Dr. Miriam Rabkin of Columbia University, Dr. Nathan Ford of the World Health Organization, Dr. Sydney Rosen of Boston University, Dr. Peter Preko of Columbia University, Dr. Tom Ellman of Médecins Sans Frontières South African unit, and Dr. Peter Ehrenkranz from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
