On September 30, 2025, the Georgetown Center for Innovation in Global Health (CIGH) partnered with The Conversation Africa to host a public webinar, “At a Crossroads: Reimagining Africa’s HIV Response.“

The discussion brought together leading voices in HIV policy and implementation — GNP+ CEO Florence Riako Anam, CIGH Director Dr. Charles Holmes, Ghana Ministry of Health’s Dr. Stephen Ayisi-Addo, CEO of Malawi’s NAC Dr. Beatrice Matanje, and Dr. Landry Tsague Dongmo, Director of Primary Care, Africa CDC — to explore how country-led innovations in policy, financing, and service delivery can drive a more sustainable, African-led HIV response.

Panelists reflected on the shifting global health funding landscape and emphasized the importance of strengthening national systems, integrating HIV prevention into broader health platforms, and investing in long-term capacity at all levels of care.
