Dr. Laura Beres is an Associate Research Professor in the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia. A social, behavioral, and implementation scientist, she focuses on optimizing client and implementer engagement in health interventions. Her methodological expertise spans epidemiologic causal inference, hybrid implementation–effectiveness trials, qualitative research, and human-centered design. Dr. Beres has extensive experience in global HIV prevention and treatment, including public health practice and policy work as an HIV Advisor to the Lesotho Ministry of Local Government and Chieftainship. She has published widely on person-centered care, patient-reported outcomes, community engagement, mental health, health systems strengthening, implementation research methods, women’s health, digital and mobile health innovation, and closing gaps in health outcomes in the US and globally.
